We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Liberty Blume team in Bradford (BD4). This hybrid role requires working in the office at least two days a week. As a Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the payroll accounting facility and the accurate and timely processing of all payroll credit transfers for employees, in accordance with both statutory and company rules. Your work will positively impact customer effectiveness, efficiency, and confidence. You will ensure payroll governance and approvals are adhered to and oversee testing and authorization prior to implementing payroll and reward-related software changes. Additionally, you will collaborate with the PS Systems and Portfolio. What will you be doing? Manage the simulation and processing of payroll accounting interfaces in line with statutory and company rules. Ensure accurate and timely processing of all payroll credit transfers and emergency CHAPS payments for staff and pensioners. Ensure statutory deductions are correctly made and accounted for, and that all statutory returns are produced and dispatched on time. Provide high-quality advice and service to managers, employees, and external organisations. Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll-related legislation and statutory obligations. Stay updated on company and statutory changes and implement necessary system changes in collaboration with IT and the PS Systems & Portfolio Development team. We tend to look for people with: Essential: CIPP Foundation Degree in Payroll Management or equivalent qualification/experience. Awareness of statutory legislation related to income taxes, National Insurance, SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP, Salary Sacrifice, Benefits in Kind, and Attachment of Earnings Orders. Understanding of external Payroll/Shared Services developments and best practices. Experience providing detailed and timely pay and management information advice. Proven experience managing complex, high-volume pay processes. Knowledge of company pension schemes. Understanding of interfaces between payroll, finance, and pensions. In-depth knowledge of payroll processing, including month-end and year-end activities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Oracle applications. Strong interpersonal skills to manage conflicting priorities and ensure deadlines are met. Desirable : Accounting qualification with demonstrable payroll experience. Good working knowledge of process improvement methodologies/Six Sigma. Ability to support new payrolls in different jurisdictions at short notice.
