Area General Manager - Senior FM
My client is one of the largest FM & BE companies in the world & they are looking for someone who has experience of managing multi-site and multi-account businesses. The client base is primarily in the higher education sector, so whilst this would be advantageous, it is not a pre-requisite.
You will lead a team of 3-5 Account Directors, with business mostly London based, and some travel across the Home Counties. A technical FM Hard services background would be beneficial, as well as strong P&L experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership, management, and development of a defined contract, ensuring financial and operational commitments are met and exceeded.
2. Ensure that opportunities for the strategic development of the contract are exploited to deliver increased turnover and profitability.
3. Ensure business policies and processes are effectively communicated and implemented within the contract.
4. Ensure the provision of healthy and safe working conditions, effectively implementing health and safety policies across all activities.
5. Ensure optimum staffing structures operate across contracts, balancing cost reduction with the delivery of service excellence.
6. Ensure contracts are staffed by fully competent teams, with effective succession planning arrangements in place.
7. Work with other Operational managers to ensure collaborative development of the business and effective team-working.
8. Develop contract financial plans for revenue and profit delivery, ensuring these are met and exceeded.
9. Ensure appropriate control systems are in place to meet statutory, policy, and contractual commitments.
10. Maintain a customer focus within all operational activities, building effective relationships with key client contacts.
11. Promote and maintain the core Values of THE COMPANY GWS.
12. Provide leadership and guidance, coaching and direct support to deliver best practice selection, training, assessment, and recognition/reward.
13. Deliver effective business communication through various channels including management meetings, briefings, and reports.
14. Support the sales process through solutions development and participation in presentations and consultations.
15. Provide a learning environment and appropriate training and development planning.
Accountabilities:
1. Reporting to a THE COMPANY Business Unit Director.
2. Accountability to the THE COMPANY functional heads, as appropriate.
3. Accountable day-to-day to the relevant client contacts.
4. Line management responsibility for a contract team and indirectly for relevant sub-contractors.
5. Financial responsibility for the delivery of commitments for the contract.
