To work as a prime care provider, alongside the midwives, in all aspects of maternity care working on a 24 hour rotational basis throughout all clinical areas of the maternity unit. This will include postnatal, recovery and maternity HDU. Practice, maintain and teach advanced clinical skills to appropriate staff groups e.g. student midwives and junior colleagues. This includes advanced life support, dealing with complex obstetric cases, siting of I.V infusions and other procedures required in the care of high-risk women. Facilitate the learning of midwifery skills through supporting /supervising students and junior medical staff Ensure quality standards are met.
