Making a difference - How this role contributes to our success
pladis are recruiting for a talented manufacturing professional reporting into the UK & Europe Excellence Lead, who will help to deliver world class manufacturing operations to a site and across the business.
The role is mainly site based but will have a requirement to work alongside the Excellence Central Team to support the establishment of a continuous Improvement culture by reducing non-value adding activities across the site and wider business.
You will be proactive in coordinating the sites support of the Excellence vision, ensuring the site is aligned driving for profitable growth and a standardised approach to Continuous Improvement.
Key Accountabilities & Deliverables
* Responsibility for facilitating, coaching and developing teams/individuals at all levels on-site (including the leadership team) as part of the implementation and successful application of Lean tools.
* Being an integral part of all Value Stream teams and therefore a key part of delivering Prime, Overhead and budget targets.
* Working closely with the Team Managers to ensure the ongoing sustainability of Lean tools on site - ensuring that skills levels are maintained and benefits realised.
* Being responsible for driving communications around Lean processes and results across site.
* Being responsible for ensuring that the site's Lean roll out is consistent with the overall Excellence approach.
* Developing and maintaining the Lean Roadmap, Dashboard and driving standardisation. Tracking and reporting of Lean deployment.
* To be the site's key link to the overall program of Excellence, preparing, providing and advocating alignment through best practice sharing.
* The role is not shift based but will require the person to be flexible in supporting the delivery requirement of business/project initiatives.
* Proven ability to facilitate Continuous Improvement Teams across site, in conducting ‘narrow and deep’ interventions aimed at reducing cost.
* Deliver Lean training courses across the site and if required other pladis sites.
* Support Green and Black belt delivery on site through engagement of the correct coaching/training mechanisms.
* Identify, manage and deliver a project(s) which results in a saving (full year) of twice annual EL costs.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Proven track record of operating in a Manufacturing / Supply Chain CI culture.
* Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
* Time Management (incl Delegation).
* Team Motivation/Facilitation.
* Communication - central & site processes.
* Change Management / Sponsorship skills.
* Decision Making and Influencing.
* Effective Project Management.
* Coaching toolkit and knowledge.
Desirable:
* Capex understanding and systems.
* Insights / HPB - understanding and developing behaviours.
* Managing Diversity.
* Commercial Awareness.
* NPD experience and planning.
Qualifications:
Essential:
* Sigma Green Belt.
* BIT level 3 or 4.
* Maths and English GCSE.
Desirable:
* Sigma Black Belt.
* Degree.
