Job Description
A leading offshore law firm is keen to strengthen its Cayman Islands corporate practice with the addition of a corporate/funds lawyer who has at least a couple of years’ offshore experience. The ideal profile will be a Cayman lawyer who is ambitious and looking for a strong platform with plenty of scope for progression and a nice collegiate working environment. Alternatively, someone seeking to transition into Cayman from a good firm in another reputable offshore jurisdiction will also have a strong application. You can expect access to high-quality work and plenty of autonomy, including the opportunity to really take a lead in client development. It should constitute a good move for someone who is aiming to cement their network of contacts with a view to building towards future Partnership.
CRITERIA:
* UK/Commonwealth admission.
* 3+ pqe (required for work permit reasons); likely to suit someone in the range of 4-8 years’ pqe but all lawyers with suitable offshore credentials are also encouraged to apply.
* Relevant City/International firm and prior exposure to offshore corporate or funds work is required. Cayman experience useful but not essential.
* Excellent technical and communication skills with the adaptability to take on a diverse practice.
LOCATION:
A pre-eminent global financial centre located just an hour from Miami, Grand Cayman offers you a Caribbean lifestyle with no compromise on quality of work, career progression or earning potential. In the office, you will advise international clients on high-value and complex matters, earning a lucrative tax-free salary.
SALARY:
Highly competitive salary, level dependent on experience. Tax-free. Full benefits and relocation.
DETAILS:
For ‘off island’ applicants, interviews will take place via videoconference for start dates typically between four and six months from application (depending on your notice period). For lawyers “on island” in Cayman, interviews will be in person. All applications treated as confidential. Speak to Jason Horobin or Charlotte Hooper at Origin Legal for more information about this and similar international roles.
