About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity at Newcastle Treatment and Recovery which is a service made up of several key partners including Humankind, enabling the development of a peer-led, recovery community. Providing a safe environment in which people can develop the life skills and confidence to achieve and maintain recovery and abstinence from their substance misuse, successfully re-integrate into society, and become active, contributing citizens.
Duties include:
* To provide testing, advice, information and drug and alcohol brief interventions to individuals brought into Police custody.
* To work as part of an integrated team to provide collaborative case management to substance misusers in contact with the criminal justice system providing dedicated input for those in police custody.
* To work effectively with Police, Liaison and Diversion, Courts, Prisons, Probation and other appropriate stakeholders across the full range of settings.
* To provide holistic and structured recovery coordination and psychosocial interventions to service clients, their families and carers.
* To act as point of contact and provide monitoring for those released from HMP and liaise with services to provide additional tracking for those who do not present to treatment.
