Mechanical Fitter: Follow detailed instructions and technical drawings to assemble mechanical systems for nuclear submarines and its support facilities, using hand and machine tools and measuring equipment. Instrument Technician: We use instruments to measure pressure, temperature, radiation, and chemical properties. Learn how to install, maintain, and repair defects on the equipment that is vital to our operations. Electrical Technician: Do detailed and specialist work installing, testing and adjusting electrical systems and repairing any issues in the wiring of our buildings, machines, and other equipment. Design Technician: Learn to develop design solutions, using AutoCAD and 3D modelling software to update, maintain and produce the technical drawings our teams need. What you'll need You'll need a minimum of four National 5s in Maths, English and Physics/Engineering Science, plus one other technical subject at grade A-C. Every bit as important as your academic achievements, are the personal qualities you bring to the role. We're looking for people who are adaptable, full of initiative and eager to learn and succeed. Beyond that, we'd like to see that you're genuinely interested in the practical side of engineering or hands on activities. For example, we'd like to hear if you enjoy figuring out how things work; making things, or about a practical project you've done at school or home, or a club you've been involved with. To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.
