Enfield Council is recruiting a Senior Prosecutions Lawyer in its in-house Litigation team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious individual to join a friendly, committed and highly regarded team. We would consider applications for full-time or part-time working.
We are looking for a qualified lawyer (solicitor, barrister or FILEX) with at least 3 years post qualification experience dealing with prosecutions, either with a local authority, CPS or other agency. Local government experience is preferable but not essential provided you have good experience working as a prosecutor and have a good knowledge of the relevant area of law. The successful candidate will be accustomed to working at pace in a busy team, working on varied and complex issues, and will be a team player who can demonstrate self-motivation and flexibility. The ability to work to deadlines with limited supervision and manage a heavy caseload is essential for this role.
This post is classified as a flexible worker and requires 2 days office attendance a week, although during the probationary period to support learning and assisting the post holder to excel in the role, office attendance may be up to 5 days per week.
Applicants are invited to submit a C.V. together with a supporting statement, addressing the criteria outlined in the job role and person specification of the role before the closing date. For more information, please see the attachments at the bottom of this advert.
The roles will sometimes require working outside normal office hours.

We do not see your name or title when shortlisting your application. This is one of many initiatives to build a more talented and diverse workforce. However, if you put your name on your CV or Statement it will be visible to us. For this reason, we ask that you do not include your name on these documents. Please note it is your responses to the Essential/Desirable criteria, as detailed in the Job Description and Person Specification which is available on the job advert, that will determine if you are shortlisted for an interview; therefore, we encourage you to always address the essential and desirable criteria in your application/CV.
