Lettings Officer - £36,435 pa
The Lettings Officer will be part of the Tenant Services Team, providing a highly professional customer focused lettings service to applicants for Hightown’s rented housing. Liaising with Local Authority Partners and Hightown’s Housing Officers, the Lettings Officer will work to ensure that Hightown’s rented homes are let swiftly and appropriately.
Duties will include advertising properties, assessing applicants and preparing for tenancies to start; Working closely with local authorities the Lettings Officer, will seek to improve the level of service in response to demand for housing, regulatory requirements and best practice.
Duties will include co-ordinating activity to turn around empty properties within target times, ensuring that sufficient and accurate information about properties is available to applicants, including the correct rent information, processing tenancy terminations, advertising properties, liaising with other Hightown departments regarding the timing of new builds and relets, processing nominations and applications, arranging viewings and maintaining Hightown’s internal transfer list. Administrative processes to support this work are carried out by the Housing Management Administrators.
Key Responsibilities:
To have a detailed knowledge of Hightown’s voids, allocations and lettings policies for each tenure type and provide advice on this to internal and external stakeholders.
To take prompt action on all void properties to ensure that they are let as quickly as possible and well within target times; working closely with those responsible for the various administrative processes involved.
Advertise properties in accordance with the requirements of the each local Authority’s requirements, including creating adverts on Locata, or similar systems, and completing requests for nominations.
To undertake comprehensive pre-tenancy assessments and submit these to the Income Recovery and Lettings Team Manager for approval
To keep abreast of current legislation regulatory requirements and best practice.A Full UK Driving Licence and Access to a Car is essential for this role.
