The Role: Making a Difference, One Day at a Time We are seeking a Residential Support Worker to make a profound impact on the life of a young person. In this role, you will support a child in a solo placement, helping them to feel understood, valued, and capable of positive change. Youll bring stability, structure, and a sense of possibility to a child who needs consistency and encouragement. Working Hours: 8:00 am to 11:00 pm, following a 3-on, 3-off rotating rota including alternate weekends off. This structure allows for deep engagement during your shifts and time to recharge, so you can continue making a meaningful impact. What Youll Do One-to-One Care: Provide warm, individualised support across all areas of daily life, helping the child to grow in confidence and develop essential life skills. Tailored Care Plans: Develop and execute a care plan designed specifically to meet the childs emotional and developmental needs. Promote Positive Behaviour: Address behaviours with empathy, guiding the child through emotional and behavioural challenges and helping them develop constructive coping skills. Build Trusting Relationships: Create a space of safety and respect where the child can express themselves openly and begin to trust in positive relationships. Ensure Safe Travel: Support the childs day-to-day engagements by providing safe transport to appointments, activities, and other commitments. Keep Records: Maintain thorough and accurate records of the childs experiences, progress, and any incidents, helping us to continuously improve our care approach. Collaborate with a Committed Team: Work closely with other team members, families, and professionals to ensure the child receives consistent, well-rounded support. Invest in Professional Growth: Participate in ongoing training and development to strengthen your skills, keeping up with best practices in supporting children with EBD. What Were Looking For Experience in Childcare: Prior experience in residential or support settings, ideally with children who have EBD, is essential. Outstanding Communication Skills: Be able to communicate with empathy and clarity to children, families, and team members alike. IT Skills: Basic proficiency in IT for efficient record-keeping and communication. Full, Clean Driving Licence: Preferred to ensure safe and reliable transport for the child. NVQ Level 3 Qualification: Essential in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People).
