Position: Children's Therapist 0.6 FTE - 22.5 hours per week or Adult Therapist 0.4 FTE - 30 hours per week

The Role
These roles provide a high-quality, specialist service to victims of sexual violence, including provision of one-to-one therapy for children up to the age of 18 or adults over 18. You will support the provision of therapeutic assessments to clients across Derbyshire who have been referred to the Therapy Service either through self-referral or other external pathways.
Working within a multi-agency setting, you will provide an empathetic and proactive therapy service to child victims of sexual abuse aged 0-17 years and their families, or adult victims, within and outside of the criminal justice system, including pre-trial therapy no matter when the abuse occurred.
This role is part of the Therapy Service, which comprises a team of Adult and Children's Therapists offering counselling, therapy, support groups, parent support sessions, and other therapeutic interventions to victims of sexual violence and secondary survivors.
About You
With a minimum of a recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy to at least Diploma Level 4, you will have undergone safeguarding training and have extensive knowledge and awareness of rape, sexual abuse, rape trauma syndrome, and their effects within the therapeutic setting.
You will be able to foster strong therapeutic alliances, including with parents of children, and hold a registration with BACP or a similar professional body.
You will have 300 hours of post-qualifying counselling practice and a minimum of two years' experience working specifically with either of these client groups.
