What’s involved?
* Work within the practice taught in the Food Hygiene course at all times.
* Prepare food for appropriate meals as specified by the menu.
* Ensure food looks pleasant, is tasty, and kept hot/cold as needed.
* Minimize food waste.
* Keep the kitchen tidy and clean at the end of each shift.
* Maintain a safe environment for staff.
* Record fridge, freezer, and food temperatures twice a day.
* Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks to a high standard and sign off.
* Keep the Better Food Better Business documentation accurate and up-to-date.
* Report any problems to the Person-in-Charge as appropriate.
* Interact with residents during meal times to gather feedback on meals.
* Order supplies to ensure sufficient stock for daily menus.
* Be aware of residents’ nutritional needs and cater accordingly.
* Work a 35-hour week, with shifts from 7.30am-2.30pm and 12.30pm-7.30pm.
* Serve 33 residents; full capacity is 44.
* Have some professional experience as a Cook.
* Minimum of an NVQ2 in Professional Cookery (not essential).
* Complete food hygiene and allergen training.
* Possess a DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one.
