Children’s Residential Practitioner Level 2 (Shift Leader)
Marshfields is a Short Break Residential Unit based in West Lynn providing short breaks for children with disabilities and/or complex health needs aged 5 to 17 yrs.
We currently have 3 full-time positions for Children’s Residential Practitioner Level 2 (Shift Leader). However, we would welcome applicants who may be looking for part-time hours.
To ensure adequate cover for the rota, part-time hours would be considered at 18.5 hours a week.
Marshfields has a stable and experienced team and our aim is to provide a fun, safe and positive environment, while offering parents and carers a break from their caring role.
Successful applicants will be suitably skilled/qualified and/or experienced and have knowledge of working with children with a diverse range of individual needs. Many of the young people who access Marshfields have complex health needs that include epilepsy and complex medication regimes and may require re-positioning during the day and night and/or physical intervention.
As a shift leader you will be responsible for leading the team on shift. You will contribute to children’s care plan plans, attend meetings and ensure the views and the wishes of the children are sought and acted upon.
This is a hands-on role within the home with children who may require physical intervention. You will need the ability to engage in active play, provide creative activities as well as undertaking manual handling.
This role requires shift work, weekend working, bank holidays and regular sleep for which enhancements are paid.
As this role does not meet the minimum salary requirements for a skilled worker visa we are unable to provide sponsorship for this role.
