The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for managing the independent site inspections and surveillances, liaising with the Client on inspection issues, ensuring the documentation is produced on time, Non-Conformances are raised promptly, reviewing documentation, and supporting the Quality Manager. Providing assurance to both the SCSJV Management and the Client that the Delivery Team and the supply chain are delivering the Works in accordance with the Works Information and design requirements.

Role Responsibilities
* Provide support and holiday cover to the Quality Manager.
* Be proactive in preventing substandard Works by coaching and providing training.
* Ensure that quality management is prioritized in the delivery of works to achieve right first time.
* Communicate with the delivery team and sub-contractors to ensure full understanding of quality assurance requirements.
* Check the works during progress and on completion to ensure compliance with Work Information and supporting documentation.
* Manage and communicate any non-conformances to the Quality Managers.
* Carry out formal surveillances to ensure inspections and tests are conducted per the inspection and test plans and that all necessary documentation is produced timely.
* Ensure the delivery team notifies HS2 and/or the Supervisor of any intervention points.
* Carry out duties in accordance with the SCSJV Core Values and understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes, and statutory requirements as they affect company operations.
The Ideal Candidate
* Managed Quality on a relevant project.
* Experience in a quality-related role on a major infrastructure project.
* Experience working on Civil engineering projects.
* Computer competence (MS Word, Excel).
* On-site training in Quality.
* Knowledge of ISO9001:2015 quality management systems.

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks, and the construction of site compounds.
