Salary: Up to £55,000 Per Annum - Negotiable depending on experience

About the role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a driven and experienced Lead Theatre Nurse / Practitioner to join our highly reputable New Purpose Built state-of-the-art private eye clinic based in Welwyn Garden City. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Lead Theatre Nurse / Practitioner to join our thriving and expanding company. We are looking for a Lead Theatre Practitioner to join our brand-new site in Welwyn Garden City. You will be exposed to a wide range of specialities. The service practices some of the most advanced treatments offering a range of surgical procedures in specialist fields within Ophthalmology. This is a great opportunity for a Lead Theatre Nurse / Practitioner to lead a team in assisting patients undergoing procedures including cataract surgery in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and responsibilities
You will be working as a Lead Theatre Nurse / Practitioner and will be responsible for:
Take responsibility for effective rostering of the team to meet the needs of clinics and theatre lists.
Hold regular team meetings, providing training and coaching, and ensure continuous professional development (CPD) for yourself and your team.
Conduct various audits, including medicine management, and investigate any accidents or complaints.
Ensure stock levels and consumable requirements are met and that medical
Ensuring the highest standards are met in terms of patient safety, confidentiality, clinical compliance and hygiene levels.
Monitor patients' conditions during surgery and review patient charts to confirm data.
Who we're looking for
Be NMC / HCPC registered - your pin must not have any restrictions or conditions
Previous hospital eye service or private eye clinic experience is essential
At least 2 years' experience working as a Lead Theatre Nurse / Practitioner in a similar setting
Ophthalmology / Optometry experience is essential
Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume clinical setting
Knowledge of clinical practice and awareness of current developments in Optometry

Person Specification: All applicants for the role of Lead Theatre Nurse / Practitioner must have a valid NMC / HCPC registration with no restrictions and full eligibility to live and work in the UK. With at least 2 years of theatre experience within a private eye or hospital experience in the UK is essential for this position.
