Job Description
The company
We're a creative studio offering brand, digital, and marketing services to businesses that play an important role in society. Our clients cover a wide range of sectors and are spread across the UK from Brighton all the way up to the Highlands and Islands in Scotland. While our work takes us everywhere, we're based on Anglesey; an incredible island off the coast of North Wales that provides easy access to the Eryri mountains and epic beaches all within twenty minutes.
The opportunity
Having gone through a period of growth, we are now looking for a project manager to join our team and help shape our future. We’re looking for a talented, confident individual who pre-empts challenges, proactively finds solutions, always keeps things moving and brings positive energy to everything they do. This is an exciting time for Tropic, and the ideal candidate will be someone who's looking to join a growing business at an early enough stage that they can genuinely shape the direction we take.
You'll oversee the daily operations of our studio, leading a diverse team of creatives, including freelancers. You will be responsible for managing this team, ensuring the best working practices are in place, and managing projects effectively from start to finish, while building and maintaining client relationships.
We have a strategy-first approach to everything we do. As our clients are small and medium-sized businesses going through periods of growth, they look to us for guidance, honesty and a good return on investment. You’ll have the commercial acumen, temperament and communication skills to deliver results for these clients while maintaining a fun, collaborative working culture.
You’ll be at the centre of everything that happens in the studio; from leading account strategy to managing budgets and project workflows, improving our operations, introducing new technology and services, and setting the tone for how we work.
Location and Language
We're a bilingual studio based in North Wales. This is a unique opportunity to live and work in an incredible part of the world and, whilst being a Welsh isn't essential to apply, the right candidate will be expected to at least learn conversational Welsh with our support. We can provide funded learning opportunities as well as a relocation support package for those moving to the area.
We’re looking for
* 3+ years in an agency or similar project management environment
* An excellent understanding of our services and the creative processes that underpin them
* Proven commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets
* Exceptional communication skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations effectively
* Leadership skills that enable you to inspire, motivate and support those around you
* An innovative approach, identifying and setting up new tools, technology and AI solutions
* A self-starter who manages their time efficiently and seeks opportunities to improve
* A team player who is proactive and takes ownership - you don’t need to be told what to do
What you’ll do
* Oversee studio operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently
* Manage schedules, diaries, and logistics to keep projects and people on track
* Be the go-to for the team, supporting creative and client service teams day-to-day
* Ensure the studio environment (physical and digital) is inspiring and running at its best
* Liaise with clients and suppliers, handling bookings, meetings, and invoices
* Support the marketing team to develop campaigns to attract new clients
* Champion studio culture, organising socials, celebrations, and other initiatives
* Streamline processes to improve efficiency and remove bottlenecks
* Keep an eye on finances, managing budgets, expenses and margins
* Stay ahead of the curve, always finding new ways for us to improve as a business and as individuals
* Help shape our future, from culture to operations, client base and locations
You’ll receive
* £30-35k salary, dependent on experience
* A profit-share or bonus scheme (to be set up)
* 22 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
* An extra day off on your birthday and when moving home
* A studio-wide Christmas shutdown
* Flexibility around core hours and hybrid options to suit your lifestyle
* Regular team days out of the studio
* Pension contribution
* Private healthcare package including discounted sports clothing/equipment
* Personal mentoring and development opportunities
* Funded support to learn or improve your Welsh
* A relocation package if moving into the area
