This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Argyll & Bute Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP) Support Team which sits within Public Health.
As a member of the Senior Management Team within ADP Support Team, they will ensure the operational delivery of the National and Local Alcohol and Drugs strategy including management of contracts, procurement, reporting and finance.
The post holder will provide key support to the ADP Chair and Co-ordinator and have line management responsibilities with the ADP Support Team.
The post holder will have operational management responsibility for the support functions of the ADP and work with the ADP Co-ordinator, ADP Chair, ADP partners to identify, implement, and support service developments and promote effective ways of working.
The post will provide leadership for work streams, reflecting policy and practice, which specifically address local health needs and strengthen the Argyll and Bute HSCP contribution and impact on the National Health and Wellbeing Outcomes.
By providing specialist public health/health improvement expertise at an advanced level the post holder will manage resources (staff/budget) to improve service delivery and the alcohol and drug health and wellbeing outcomes of the population.
This post will work across the Argyll and Bute HSCP Area working to alcohol and drug specific portfolio of work.
The post is full-time, permanent and the successful candidate will have a base in Argyll and Bute, and hold a driving licence.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
