Key Responsibilities for the SEND Teaching Assistant:
The successful SEND Teaching assistant will provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met.
Implement bespoke curriculum plans tailored to each student's academic and pastoral requirements.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant you must demonstrate empathy, understanding, and a nurturing approach in all interactions with students.
Differentiate strategies to accommodate the varied learning styles and abilities of students.
Consistently apply behaviour management techniques outlined in the behaviour management policy.
Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support student progress.
Requirements for the SEND Teaching Assistant role:
Previous experience working with students with SEND is desirable but full training will be provided to become a successful SEND Teaching Assistant.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
Patient, resilient, and adaptable to meet the diverse needs of students.
Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are advantageous.
