What youll be doing As a Financial Controller, you will oversee the IETs international financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, compliance with regulations, and robust financial controls. You will oversee statutory and monthly management reporting for our non-UK subsidiaries, manage UK treasury and investment activities, and provide strategic financial advice and presentations to senior stakeholders and committees. Working with a skilled finance team, you will foster collaboration and drive continuous improvement while supporting year-end audits and risk management processes. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in supporting fundraising activities, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and adherence to regulatory requirements. By cultivating strong relationships with external advisors and internal teams, you will contribute to the delivery of effective, efficient, and compliant financial operations that align with the IETs strategic objectives. What we hope you can bring to the role Were looking for a qualified ACA finance professional with proven experience in managing complex financial operations, including statutory reporting, treasury management, and driving process improvement. Youll bring strong leadership skills to develop and inspire teams while building and maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders. Your ability to present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences will be key. With a proactive, solutions-focused mindset, youll be adept at identifying risks, streamlining processes, and providing strategic insights to support effective decision-making. Experience with international operations, investment monitoring, and systems such as Agresso Unit 4 will be highly advantageous, as will familiarity with charity reporting (Charities SORP) and fundraising governance. A little more about the role Oversee financial operations, reporting, and compliance for the IETs international offices. Review and oversee statutory reporting for non-UK subsidiaries and assist with the UK year-end consolidated accounts preparation and audit process. Manage treasury function, including review of cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, mandates, and KYC compliance. Monitor and report on investment strategy and performance, collaborating with advisors and committees. Provide financial and governance support for fundraising activities, ensuring compliance. Attend and report to key committees, such as the Audit and Risk Process Committee and Finance and Investment Committee. Lead and develop key finance team members, ensuring collaboration and regulatory compliance. Act as a trusted advisor on tax, risk management, and process improvements across operations. Extensive experience in statutory reporting, including international operations and risk management. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, develop, and motivate teams. Excellent communication skills to present complex financial information clearly and effectively. Experience in the embedding and review of core financial controls, including oversight of treasury and investment functions. Familiarity with finance systems; experience with Agresso Unit 4 is desirable. Knowledge of tax compliance, fundraising regulations, and charity accounting (SORP) is a plus.
