Senior Stroke Physiotherapist
Band 6
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 5 or existing Band 6 wishing to specialise in Stroke to join a well-established Stroke Therapy team at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton Trust. There is the option for full or part time hours, including a substantive or secondment contract.
You will work with the wider MDT to provide high-quality therapy intervention, working towards service improvement and development. In return, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills by deputising for the clinical lead and providing day-to-day management of Band 5, assistant staff, and students.

Main duties of the job
* To work in support of other senior physiotherapists to provide a high standard service for stroke patients.
* To be responsible for supervising and teaching junior staff, assistants and students working within the same speciality.
* To provide advanced physiotherapy assessment and treatment to stroke patients and provide specialist advice and support to other professionals regarding the management of stroke patients throughout the Trust.
Requirements
* You will be required to demonstrate that you are:
* Organised and efficient
* Have demonstrable experience in stroke care.
* Relevant working knowledge of the National Stroke Guidelines/ NICE standards
* Have experience of supervising and teaching others.
* An enthusiastic and motivated team member
* Flexible and adaptable to meet service requirements
* Genuinely interested in supporting the needs of those with complex physical and cognitive impairment
* Able to work on your own as well as part of a team
* Flexible with regard to 7-day working
* Maintain respiratory competencies to provide chest PT care to ward patients and also participate in the out of hours respiratory service as required.

Minimum Qualifications
* Physiotherapy degree or equivalent diploma
* HCPC registration
* Attendance at relevant courses/ training
* Member of CSP or ACPIN
Knowledge and Experience
* Previous employment within the NHS
* Previous experience in respiratory care/ participation in on-call rota
* Evidence of MDT working experience
* Experience across a variety of specialities
* Experience in acute stroke care
* Experience working with patients with complex impairments
