Viper Innovations Ltd in partnership with the University of Bath is looking for a talented engineer or scientist at the interface of electrical engineering and chemistry/physics to develop an innovative subsea cable integrity monitoring product that will extend the lifetime and performance of critical underwater cables and support the growth of offshore renewables. This full-time 24-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project specifically seeks to optimise corrosion prevention and enhance control algorithms to reduce the environmental and financial burden of installing new cables. This unique opportunity will bring together an exciting combination of expertise in electronic & electrical engineering and subsea chemistry to understand electrochemical corrosion, working alongside academics from one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities. Due to funding requirements this role must start by September 2025 and will be based 5 days a week at the Viper’s premises in Portishead near Bristol. Whilst working as a KTP Associate, you will lead this high profile and strategically meaningful project, allowing you to apply your academic achievements in an industrial setting. You will receive practical and formal training, gain marketable skills, broaden your knowledge and expertise within an industrially relevant project, and be supported by both industrial and academic mentors. You will be responsible for engaging with and embedding new knowledge within both the business partner and the University.
