Quantity Surveyor Role

As a Quantity Surveyor at CappKind, you will be pivotal in delivering the commercial support and strategic insight our clients depend on. You’ll oversee the commercial delivery of a diverse project portfolio, working closely with client teams to manage costs, contracts, and risk, while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety. Building and sustaining strong relationships with clients, the supply chain, and internal teams will be essential to your role, as will your commitment to precise reporting and effective project outcomes. The role:
* Full time, permanent – Leeds based with 1 day per week travel to Liverpool (flexible / remote working arrangements available)
* Commercial management of NEC infrastructure projects in the Energy sector.
Key responsibilities:
* Set an example as a model professional quantity surveyor, providing support to the wider team in relation to commercial and contractual issues.
* Providing pre-contract support to our client’s projects (estimating & subcontractor procurement)
* Providing post-contract support to our client’s projects (payment, change management, risk management & project reporting)
* Ensuring outputs align with client requirements and expectations
* Ensure timely submission of internal and external deliverables.
The successful candidates will:
* Be client focused and understand the importance of delivering outputs on time and within budget.
* Have at least 3 years’ experience working in a quantity surveying/assistant quantity surveying role.
* Have a degree in a construction or quantity surveying related discipline
* Be a member / working towards being a member of a recognised professional body such as the RICS or ICES
* Be a self-motivated team player who demonstrates excellent judgement and decision-making skills
* Demonstrate strong inter-personal skills
* Consider sustainability, collaboration, innovation and integrity in all aspects of their work.
The successful candidates will ideally possess skills and experience in:
* Working with the latest forms of construction contracts, particularly NEC
* Cost analysis, cost forecasting, cost control and commercial assurance
* Project analysis and project reporting
* Risk identification, risk management and risk reduction
* IT packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Remuneration and benefits include:
* £30,000 - £45,000 salary (depending on experience/qualifications)
