We have a number of vacancies for Administrative Officers within the North Strathclyde Sheriffdom on various contracts:
Paisley Sheriff Court: x2 Full Time Permanent
Dumbarton Sheriff Court: x1 Full Time Fixed Term (6 months)
Kilmarnock Sheriff Court: x1 Full Time Permanent, x1 Full Time Fixed Term (Until September 2025)
Greenock Sheriff Court: x1 Full Time Fixed Term (Until September 2025)
Administrative Officers carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court or provide support to other functions within the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service.
The Key Responsibilities:
To undertake a number of general administrative duties including:
*Creating and updating records on our in-house computer system and data input.
*Producing and processing court documents for issuing.
*Preparing files for court hearings.
*General photocopying and filing.
*Attending at 9.30 am hearings when required.
*Deals with customer queries via telephone, email and public counter and assists with duties as allocated by supervisors and to deliver a high quality service to all customers in line with the Courts Charter.
*Accounting for monies in accordance with financial guidance taking payments
*Dealing with numerical calculations.
*Deal with correspondence/enquires from justice partners and solicitor.
*Assists colleagues as and when requested.
*Complies with GDPR requirements in regards to confidentiality
Additionally you:
*Will have regular contact with court users, including members of the Judiciary and the legal profession. As such you will be required to competently answer queries giving consistent and reliable advice.
*Work within a team with regular management support and will be responsible for your own time.
*May be required to provide advice to colleagues and carry out limited supervision of others.
*Assist with preparing statistical information and other returns to ensure standards of work meet the agreed levels.
*Assist in clearing up of the courts by preparing court interlocutors and/or court minutes, issuing letters, ordering reports and filing/uploading documents as necessary.
*Process and enter fine payments onto computer system.
*Undertake duties as may be reasonably requested within the scope of the post.
