Caretaker Full time role, 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, no shift work, Central Reading To £23,745k per annum depending on skills and experience; benefits include 7% employer pension contribution. About Launchpad We are a registered charity for the homeless that helps some of Reading’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged people to turn their lives around and fulfill their potential. Launchpad offers accommodation-based support and works with our tenants on a range of support needs including advice and advocacy, life skills, budgeting, mental health, drug / alcohol addiction as well as support around education, training, and employment. We have a vacancy for a Caretaker and are looking for applications from individuals who can ensure that Launchpad properties and grounds are safe and maintained to a high standard. THE ROLE Within the role you will be reporting to and working under the guidance of the Maintenance & Compliance Manager. The responsibilities within the role entails carrying out maintenance tasks including plumbing, internal and external decorations, carpentry, locksmith, cleaning, and general repairs in and around our Launchpad residential properties to a high standard. In addition, you will also be responsible for carrying out Health & Safety checks within Launchpad properties. THE CANDIDATE The ideal candidate will be competent at basic building repairs and maintenance and is able to work effectively with little supervision. You will be pro-active and enthusiastic about the aims and services that Launchpad provides. You can work to deadlines, ensuring that void works are carried out as a priority. You would need to have the ability to work well within a team and to learn quickly with an enthusiastic and positive attitude. Be a highly motivated and proactive individual, who has the ability to present a calm and professional image, even if under pressure. The closing date for applications is Tuesday 17 th September.
