Our client is a retailer with a number of leading international furniture and home furnishings and accessories brands within its portfolio.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the candidate is expected to travel to India, China, and the Middle East on an ad hoc basis.
We are currently seeking a graduate calibre, experienced end-to-end supply chain planning specialist for the role of:
Experience with Oracle, WMS, RED Prairie, SAP, or similar ERP systems would be advantageous.
The successful candidate’s experience will include in-depth exposure to supply chain sales forecasting, inventory management, merchandising, category management, and inbound freight/logistics and supply chain planning experience gained within the furniture, home furnishings, and home accessories sector.
This experience should ideally have been gained within a leading home furnishings, furniture, or department store retailing environment. This is a strategic role managing a team of supply chain planning specialists. You will also be responsible for managing and negotiating relationships with international/3PL freight forwarding and shipping lines, international logistics providers, and suppliers from leading furniture and furnishings brands.
The Ideal Candidate:
You will have a significant operational and strategic track record of international inbound logistics, supply chain forecasting, supply chain planning, and supply chain development gained within the home furnishings, furniture, and home accessories retail sector. This experience must have been gained within an international or large retailing organisation.
The ideal candidate will have excellent sales forecasting, merchandising, category management, and inbound supply chain planning experience. Experience gained within the Middle East, Europe, or Asia/Australasia with international home furnishings will be particularly advantageous. Home furnishings supply chain experience is a prerequisite.
This role does not cover on-the-ground road transport or warehousing in the Middle East, just international freight and shipping movements into the Free Trade Zone in Dubai.
The Role:
Utilising your experience in the field, you will coach and mentor the supply chain team to establish and develop best practices within the division. Previous experience with Asian, American, European, and MENA supply chains is desirable; however, this position offers the opportunity for a candidate without prior experience in these varied markets to learn and develop on the job and grow their own knowledge base in the process.
You will manage all aspects of the Supply Chain, implementing systems for effective and accurate forecasting, inventory, and replenishment at all levels. Manage supply arrangements, interacting strongly with specific brand support services and local suppliers.
Monitor performance of the Supply Chain, develop budgets, and ensure timely and accurate information flows within and outside the business.
