CONTRACT: 12 Months, possibility to go permanent based on performance.
HOURS: 37 hours per week.
PAY RATE: £15-17 Per hour

About the job
We are looking for an individual to design, deliver and evaluate high-quality face-to-face youth work to contribute to the effective delivery of personal, social, and educational development programmes for vulnerable and targeted groups of young people. This role seeks to promote their active involvement and has a demonstrable positive impact on their lives, supporting them in making a successful transition into adulthood. This will also involve supporting the development of youth voice mechanisms across Slough.
Youth Worker Responsibilities:
* Design, deliver and evaluate high-quality face-to-face youth work to contribute to the effective delivery of personal, social, and educational development programmes for vulnerable and targeted groups of young people.
* Manage a small team of Youth Advisors providing a range of direct services to young people, including street work, projects, group and project-based work, and some 1:1 support.
* Proactively manage risks for all allocated cases, including preparing risk assessments when needed and ensuring risk management is included in all action plans.
* Produce evidence that young people are making educational and personal progress through their contact with the service.
* Proactively develop and effectively promote multi-agency working, ensuring close working relationships with partners such as schools, colleges, youth offending service, social care, training providers, and commissioned providers.
* Develop specialist expertise in areas relevant to young people’s needs, including careers advice, information and guidance, SEN, substance and alcohol misuse, sexual health, prevention of teenage pregnancy, youth offending, emotional wellbeing, and detached and street work.
Youth Worker Requirements:
* Significant experience engaging young people from different backgrounds both 1:1 and in groups, with experience working with high levels of vulnerability.
* Experience planning and delivering support packages for young people with multiple needs and evaluating young people’s outcomes.
* Experience recruiting and developing young leaders from a wide range of backgrounds.
* Experience working with young people from various cultural, faith, and language backgrounds.
* A good understanding of the issues affecting young people and the nature of services available to them.
* Ability to engage young people and work in an outcome-focused way, both in groups and one-on-one, skilled in enabling young people to contribute to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of youth work.
* Ability to develop and implement appropriate exit strategies with young people.
* Relevant professional qualification that grants full professional status in working with young people, such as JNC recognized qualification in Youth Work, Personal Advisor/IAG Qualification at level 4 or above, or qualifications in professions such as social work, teaching, or Youth Offending Service.

Experience is required for this role, specifically in managing and motivating staff or mentoring, multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working, in partnership with relevant agencies to deliver integrated services to young people. Preferably, experience working with several cultures and faiths is needed.
