About the Team The Treasury Business Solutions (TBS) team are trusted business partners responsible for Technology, Security, Estates and Knowledge & Information Management. We have staff based in each of our London, Norwich and Darlington offices. The IT service team of 15 people are responsible for managing and delivering IT services to support operations and meet the needs of over 3,500 users in Treasury and our Arm’s length bodies. The team manages our Oracle ERP Cloud system, our ITSM system, our correspondence system and our Enterprise IT Service. About the Job We are seeking an experienced IT service management professional. The Head of IT Service plays a significant role in ensuring that IT services are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with the overall business strategy. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to lead a dynamic team in an ambitious and encouraging environment. In this role, you will: Ensure that IT services are aligned with HMT’s strategic objectives, government policies and professional standards. This includes designing and implementing IT service strategies that support the department's mission and objectives. Lead all aspects of the delivery of IT services to ensure they meet agreed service levels, quality standards, and performance metrics. This involves managing service level agreements and continuously monitoring and improving service performance. Run the IT service budget and resources effectively, ensuring cost-efficient delivery of services while meeting HMT’s needs. This involves financial planning, cost control, and resource allocation. Engage with key partners, including senior management, other government departments, and external partners, to understand their IT needs and ensure services are delivered to meet those needs. This includes effective communication and collaboration to support decision-making and strategic planning. Lead and develop a team of 15 technology professionals working across our technology services. Work cross-functionally as part of the TBS Senior Management Team to develop and deliver our technology, estates, security and KIM business plans and lead our people. About You We are looking for someone who is experienced in running IT service delivery using ITIL and other frameworks that align to business strategy. You should have demonstrable dedication to continuous learning for self and team by proactively seeking out relevant new knowledge and skills to achieve future objectives. You should also be consistently delivering high-quality, efficient, user-centric IT services in both in-house and out-sourced services that support user needs and expectations.
