You'll oversee a varied portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, delivering expert tax guidance and compliance solutions. Working hand-in-hand with our partners, you'll uphold outstanding client service and mentor junior colleagues within our thriving tax department. Our client base spans entrepreneurs, property investors, business owners, and those stewarding family wealth. While most are UK residents, you'll also tackle intricate cases for non-UK domiciliaries and residents, often linked to international assets or UK and offshore trusts. Key Responsibilities Responding swiftly to routine client correspondence to foster strong connections. Preparing for and participating in meetings with both existing and prospective clients, establishing budgets, and ensuring deliverables stay on track and within scope. Managing all facets of income tax (including National Insurance) and capital gains tax, such as reviewing PAYE coding notices where necessary. Collaborating with partners on advisory assignments, drafting reports on areas like inheritance tax planning, residency rules, UK trusts, and business frameworks. Liaising with clients and third-party professionals to gather critical data for tax return preparation. Monitoring personal time budgets and chargeability to optimise performance. Addressing HMRC correspondence, including s9A enquiries, and preparing digital disclosure submissions. Reviewing Self-Assessment tax returns prepared by colleagues for client approval and prompt filing. Engaging with clients on everyday and bespoke tax matters-covering inheritance tax, income tax, and capital gains tax-via email, phone, or in-person discussions. Prioritising tasks to ensure seamless client care and adherence to HMRC deadlines, working autonomously with proactive flair. Handling quarterly billing, setting reserves, and keeping partners briefed on billing updates. Participating in departmental meetings and networking events to boost business development. Qualifications/Education Required CTA, ACA, or equivalent qualification, paired with solid private client tax experience. Particular Aptitudes/Skills Required Strong client-facing skills, with ease in regular client conversations and meetings. Sharp organisational abilities to juggle workloads and hit deadlines consistently. Self-sufficiency in managing client affairs and time, with a knack for taking initiative. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, alongside solid tech know-how. People management skills to guide junior team members. Commercial insight to strengthen client ties and support firm expansion.
