We have a friendly, forward-thinking team looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a permanent basis in Luton, Bedfordshire.
This is a busy small animal practice, with a progressive attitude that takes pride in the high standards of care that they provide. They are in the process of building up their clinical team but have the potential and facilities to become a 3 full-time vet practice. They have a motivated and proactive nursing team, consisting of 2 RVNs, 1 SVN, and 2 VCAs, who provide a high level of support and are confident with schedule 3 procedures and consulting. The nursing team, led by Head Nurse Emily, is particularly keen on pain management and local anaesthesia techniques and is happy to share this with any future colleagues.
They also have a full reception team and Practice Manager to provide excellent client care. Our new team member will be supported, and in turn support other members of the team, promoting wellbeing and a positive work environment.
The practice has recently invested in dental x-ray and a new dental suite, alongside the usual gadgets such as digital x-ray, ultrasound, tonopen, multiparameter monitoring equipment, blood haematology and biochemistry, bair huggers and blood pressure machines.
Ideally, this is a full-time role but the team is open to negotiation and encourages part-time applicants to get in touch as well. This is a 50:50 consulting and surgery role and they are open to discussing different shift patterns, depending on the number of days worked per week. There is a share in the Saturday morning rota; currently, 1 in 3. But the practice is only open 8.30am-12pm on Saturdays; along with no Sundays, Bank Holidays, and no OOHs so there is plenty of time to enjoy the weekend and achieve that important work-life balance!
This team knows that work-life balance is vital in supporting their people to be their best selves and their flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours offers a balance that truly flexes with you and your lifestyle no matter what stage you are in your career.
Applications are welcomed from certificate holders and candidates with all levels of experience. Additional qualifications are a bonus and salary would reflect this. The ideal candidate will be a team player as the wellbeing of our team is very important to us and someone who enjoys a mix of surgery and consultation time. You must have a current MRCVS registration.
Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience plus up to £5,000 relocation allowance.
