I'm working with a brilliant special school based in Bristol that are looking for a teacher to join the team from the summer term in leading a KS1 class. The school looks after students with a range of special needs but the class in question looks after students with SEMH & ASD.
The school has fantastic facilities that provide exceptional pastoral support to their students. They put a major focus on making sure the students are as independent as they can be.
The role
The position that has become available is within a KS1 class of 8 SEMH students where you will be supported by 2 permanent TAs. You will be expected to plan your own lessons (primary model) as well as mark the lessons (adequate PPA time will be provided).
Experience-wise, it is essential that you have worked with SEMH/SEN students before and preferably hold a QTS. You must be confident in dealing with challenging behaviour.
In addition, you will receive:
* Guarantee Pay Scheme opportunities
* Permanent job roles
* Support and advice during the clearance and onboarding process
* Working to Agency Workers Regulations
* Interview preparation, advice and support
* Statutory employment rights, such as sick pay, holiday pay, maternity and paternity pay
