A role is available for a dedicated and passionate Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join an expanding, highly motivated, and friendly Speech and Language Therapy team.
Based at a psychiatric hospital rated as Good by the CQC, this position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of individuals with communication difficulties, some of whom may also have swallowing difficulties.
The role involves working within an inpatient mental health hospital catering for men and women with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism. The successful candidate will support clients in developing functional communication skills through various approaches, helping them progress towards discharge and enabling them to lead happier, more fulfilling lives within the community.
Person-centred planning is central to the care provided, tailored to the specific needs of each individual.
This position also offers the chance to develop management skills, with responsibilities including the line management of the SLT Assistant and leading communication projects across the site.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate should:
1. Be eager to develop or expand clinical expertise with this client group.
2. Be motivated to engage with the wider Priory Speech and Language Therapy networks.
3. Collaborate actively in quarterly Priory Speech and Language Therapy meetings.
4. Work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
5. Collaborate closely with the Lead Speech and Language Therapist and provide support to the Speech and Language Therapy Assistant (SLTA).
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
1. HCPC-approved degree or master's qualification (or equivalent) in Speech and Language Therapy.
2. HCPC and RCSLT registration.
3. Experience working with individuals diagnosed with Autism (ASD)/Learning Disabilities, including those with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
4. Experience or interest in dysphagia management.
5. Strong teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
6. Excellent communication and time management abilities.
