Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Clinical Nurse Specialist, Highly Specialised Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist in Neurological Rehabilitation
Are you interested in neurology and want to develop your career in a specialist role? If so, this is the opportunity to work within a small, dynamic team leading the care of adults with a wide range of acquired neurological conditions in the Winchester, Eastleigh and Andover area.
It offers you the chance to work as an autonomous practitioner in a community setting with flexible working patterns and the option of home-based working.
The patient group includes those with neurological conditions such as motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis. There is a neuropalliative care element to the role with the opportunity of working closely with colleagues in palliative care.
You will get to know your patients and their families very well and this will allow you to offer continuity of care throughout the disease trajectory. You will be supported by the clinical nurse specialists and occupational therapist within the service as well as the consultant neurologists.
Your continuing professional development is important to us and educational opportunities will be made available.
We are looking to appoint to a 3 day per week part time vacancy. You will be joining the Neurological Rehabilitation Service at a Band 6 or 7 depending on your qualifications and level of experience.
Main duties of the job
You will manage your own caseload and you will conduct holistic assessments and develop management plans to meet the specialist needs of your patients. You will be responsible for case management and developing your clinical skills to optimise expert care to your patients. You will also be expected to provide educational support to patients, their families and professionals.
An integral part of the role will be to continue to develop close working relationships with other NHS providers and statutory organisations to ensure that the needs of patients and their families are met.
You will be actively involved in the continued development of the service. You will also need to demonstrate leadership and initiative as well as the ability to develop and sustain good working relationships with multi-professional colleagues and peers.
You will have a full, current driving license and have access to a car.
