About the role
Due to an increase in customer demand and an exciting transformational programme being put in place, we’re now recruiting Sales Advisors for our Mutual Direct team. You’ll join the team as part of a 20-strong cohort, and together we’ll train you to handle new customer general sales enquiries for NFU Mutual insurance, including motor, property and pet and equine products.
Working Hours: The role offers a rotational shift pattern between 8am – 8pm Monday – Friday, and 9am – 12.30pm on Saturday (you’re likely to work around 3 in every 7 Saturdays).
With our comprehensive in-house training programme, which typically takes 4-6 months, and the high-level ongoing support provided, you’ll be fully equipped to propose policies to our customers, generate quotes, upsell products and confidently liaise with our underwriters when you receive a bespoke or multi-product enquiry. Once your training is complete, you’ll be set achievable monthly targets to gain your bonus. Throughout your training you’ll automatically receive a monthly 12.5% bonus payment.
As a Sales Advisor at Mutual Direct, you won’t be expected to handle a high number of calls per day, so unlike a typical call centre, you can take the time to really understand the customers’ needs and provide the excellent customer service we’re known for. We’re proud of the team we’ve built and the supportive atmosphere we’ve created. We do this by dedicating 10% of your time each week to both personal and team development.

This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute.”
About you
Whether you have sales experience, or have never worked in a sales role before, you’re a confident communicator with the ability to deal with people on a one-to-one basis. Any experience in a frontline, customer-focused role, such as the retail, hospitality, or emergency call handling sectors, is also beneficial.
