Key Responsibilities
1. To design and improve products, in accordance with the appropriate procedures having taken the manufacturing capability and component limitations into consideration.
2. To ensure that throughout the development process, attention is focused on quality, efficiency and cost is maintained at all times.
3. To produce all the required drawings together with Bills of Material that are needed for production, including the creation of new parts.
4. To define the specifications of any additional components that may be required during the course of a project so that the Quality Engineer may liaise with the Materials Control Manager in sourcing and acquiring said parts. To provide support for this process by assessing any limitations that may be imposed by product (or vehicle) on the specification.
5. To continuously seek ways to improve product design and reduce production costs, and submit ideas as Specification Change Requests for approval.
6. To work as part of a Development Project Team to design new or improved products for manufacture.
7. To ensure that all design work meets the technical specifications of a project.
8. To ensure all Bills of Material are in accordance with the agreed production design prior to the product launch.
9. To oversee the building of prototypes within the factory and work closely with the other engineers and technicians assigned to a project.
10. To provide continued support of the product in manufacturing engineering.
11. To develop and improve all HPL manufactured products, focusing on maintaining low cost production, high quality, serviceability and reliability.
12. To design and draw, using the Company's CAD system.
13. To provide technical support to sales and support teams for all manufactured products and to installation/service engineers on the specification and installation of equipment.
14. To ensure that all Specification Change Requests are properly processed and completed with minimal delay.
15. To uphold good housekeeping practices throughout all daily work routines.
Experience
1. Minimum of 1 Years Experience of Computer Aided Design or relevant Engineering qualification or degree.
2. Experience of Autodesk Inventor or Solid Works software advantageous but not essential.
3. Previous experience of producing engineering and/or technical drawings is advantageous but not essential.
