Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Planning Engineer to join our team in Warrington, United Kingdom. As a Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of our engineering projects in the water and energy sectors by developing, implementing, and monitoring project plans.
* Develop comprehensive project execution plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
* Analyse the project requirements and create detailed work breakdown structures.
* Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify all project requirements and agree on timescales.
* Utilise planning software (preferably Primavera P6) to produce tender stage programmes.
* Conduct resource forecasting and optimisation to improve project efficiency.
* Assist in the development of project budgets and cost estimates.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for planning processes.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field).
* Minimum 3 years of experience in the engineering industry or related field.
* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
* Strong knowledge of CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
* Ability to develop and manage complex project schedules.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
* Knowledge of construction methodologies and techniques.
* Understanding of project scheduling and resource allocation principles.
* Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
* Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Professional certification in engineering/project management (e.g., CEng or PMP) is desirable.
