We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic paralegal to join our Public Law & Human Rights Department in our Nottingham office.
As a paralegal in this department, you will be involved in a wide variety of work, including:
* Judicial Review & Public Law: Assisting in cases that challenge decisions made by public authorities, ensuring that the rights of individuals and groups are upheld. This will also involve cases related to the age assessments of vulnerable unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
* Court of Protection: Supporting cases related to welfare capacity decisions.
This position also offers the potential for career progression. The post holder may be considered for a training contract at the firm following an internal recruitment process.
Key Responsibilities:
As a paralegal, your responsibilities will include:
* Handling new client enquiries and providing preliminary assistance.
* Supporting fee earners with case preparation and administration.
* Preparing and managing funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency.
* Conducting legal research and processing complex information.
* Drafting documents, including witness statements, schedules, and advice.
* Processing and organizing evidence and documentation.
* Attending conferences with clients and counsel, as well as court hearings.
