Day Rate: Up to £400

The client is an emerging electrification engineering and civil construction contractor and consultancy who works closely with a wide range of prestigious engineering and construction clients across several disciplines within the UK civil infrastructure industry. These disciplines include Design, Engineering, Construction & Maintenance.
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and chartered Civil Designer with a strong background in structural concrete and waterworks design including Foundations, Storage tanks, Earthworks, Reinforced concrete and similar for flow enhancement works for the water industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering design solutions for critical water infrastructure projects, with a primary focus on Thames Water projects initially. This position requires a deep understanding of civil engineering principles, structural integrity, and water treatment processes, ensuring all designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
2. Produce design calculations and drawings.
3. Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
4. Prepare design investigations, reports and specifications.
5. Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and group standards.
6. Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.
7. Undertake work using formal processes and procedures.
8. Estimate hours required for design packages.
9. Present and attend IDC meetings and design presentations.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
1. 10 years’ relevant design experience in structural and/or civil engineering.
2. Graduate or HND.
3. Good level IT.
4. Registered with professional body and working towards chartership.
Experience & Qualifications:
1. Chartered engineer.
2. Experience in temporary works design, structures and civil engineering.
3. Awareness of construction methods and materials.
4. Knowledge of Engineering Drawing Practices.
5. Experience working in the utilities, water or railway industries.
6. Proficient in TEDs, Ansys, STAAD and/or MATHCAD.
