Hours per week – Full-time, 32.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
As a class teacher, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality, inclusive teaching of a range of curriculum subject areas including English and Maths and maintenance of related documentation, including student progress, EHCP documentation, and accreditation for the students you teach.
You will work with students at St George’s School with medical and behavioural challenges. St George’s is embedding a trauma-informed approach to teaching and learning, and all staff receive appropriate training to embrace this approach. You may also be required to support individuals requiring medical support and will therefore be required to undertake/update specialist training as necessary.
You will develop your practice to effectively meet the needs of our students, supporting them to progress in line with individual expectations or exceed them with additional support. You will develop positive working relationships, sharing good practice across the school, and take a lead in identifying areas for your own professional development through your reflective practice.
What you can offer us:
* Be able to demonstrate a high level of personal resilience
* A dynamic, enthusiastic, and inspirational teacher who can work creatively to enhance the education of students with a range of physical, sensory, and learning difficulties as they journey through to adulthood.
* Relevant experience of working with students who have High Needs/SEND in a specialist area, such as SEMH, Medical, Autism, and complex challenging behaviour.
* Self-reflection on the effectiveness of lessons and approaches to teaching
In return we can offer:
* The opportunity to be part of an adaptable, committed, and skilled staff team.
* A creative learning environment, timetable, and curriculum.
* A wide range of training opportunities for career development.
We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and expect all our staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for the successful applicant.
