We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Lawyer to join our Legal Team, supporting with reviewing and assessing the risks of client and supplier contracts.

What you will be doing:
1. Reviewing clients and supplier contracts and supporting the Commercial Counsel in meeting relevant deadlines.
2. Reviewing contract terms and specifications, including recommending appropriate limits of liability, identifying risks, and providing legal advice.
3. Acting as a lawyer, primarily responsible for non-complex legal matters arising from the Marston Group and external clients included with the portfolio of work covered by the team.
4. Assisting in the preparation of contract variations, termination letters, contract drafting, and external contracts.
5. Supporting the Commercial Counsel in legal process reviews to ensure efficient and effective working practices.
6. Liaising with senior stakeholders and officers regarding the caseload of matters undertaken, seeking appropriate instructions, and providing expert professional advice.
7. Attending meetings with clients and suppliers’ senior officers when required.
What we are looking for:
1. Experience of working in an “in-house” commercial legal team.
2. Experience of contract and procurement law, bids, tenders, commercial law, and data protection.
3. Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, national policies, and legal procedures that apply to the area of work undertaken by the team.
4. Qualified UK Solicitor or Barrister (NQ-2 PQE is desirable).
