The Purpose of the Role
Following an expansion of its A Level provision, Radnor House Sevenoaks is seeking a talented and ambitious Head of Economics to lead a newly formed department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to set the strategic direction of the department, designing and implementing a new curriculum in line with their chosen exam board syllabus. They will also enjoy considerable support from the school's leadership team and the well-established Business department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the Economics Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning that result in excellent student outcomes.
* Implement and develop a comprehensive and engaging Economics curriculum.
* Teach Economics to A Level.
* Foster a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
* Organise and participate in extracurricular activities, such as economics clubs, competitions, and trips.
* Stay updated with the latest developments in economics education and integrate them into the curriculum.
* Contribute to the school’s strategic planning and development as an academic leader.
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success.
Further Responsibilities:
* To act as a form tutor.
* To contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.
* To undertake such other duties as the Head may reasonably request.
