Business Development Manager
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join a family-run business based in Leeds. They specialize in waste management across the country. Due to continued growth of the company, they are now looking for a tenacious, passionate, and positive Business Development Manager to join their dedicated team of sales staff covering Leicester. This is a fully field-based position, working Monday to Friday, offering a permanent, full-time opportunity, with a salary of up to £25,000 plus commission.
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for identifying and securing new accounts via cold calls, door knocks, and other lead generation methods, effectively nurturing them using their recently implemented bespoke CRM system. The role is field-based but will require some time spent in the offices for sales meetings. You will achieve and exceed monthly targets and manage your personal sales pipeline. You will act as the key interface between the customer and all relevant internal departments. You will use and update internal CRM systems and other appropriate records. Additionally, you will support the Sales Manager and other colleagues with sales-related activities.
What skills will you have?
As the Business Development Manager, you will have proven field sales experience; experience within the Waste Management sector would be an advantage but is not essential. You will have a proven track record of selling contracted services and achieving or overachieving sales targets. You must be able to handle rejection and work in various weather conditions. You should be social media savvy, able to build excellent rapport, and possess strong sales skills. You must also be articulate, confident, and politely persistent, capable of working well as part of a team. You will be ambitious and self-motivated, demonstrating a strong 'can do' attitude, with the determination to succeed and the willingness to go the extra mile to win a customer's commitment. A driver's license is required as this is a field sales position; a company car will be provided.
