Associate/Associate Director - Ground Engineering
Richter's Ground Engineering division is looking for an Associate/Associate Director to lead our Newport, Shropshire office. The role includes responsibility for leading teams and the delivery of projects, promoting collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Our ground engineering team work on a wide range of small to large scale projects including ground investigation support, earthwork design, slope stability, foundation and retaining wall design, numerical modelling, earthworks logistics and many more. Project work is of a Geotechnical and Engineering Geology nature and encompasses all project stages from feasibility to detailed design to construction support. We support clients across a range of infrastructure sectors.
This role would suit someone who is either a Principal looking to make the next step in their career or an Associate who is looking for greater responsibility and autonomy not only in leading their teams but also have ownership of the commercial and strategic direction.
Successful applicants will have demonstrable experience in people management and work packages in the ground engineering sector in the UK. Ideally, this should cover a wide range of sectors with ground engineering experience in several or all the following areas: Energy, Nuclear, Highway, Rail, Buildings, and Utilities.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide lead to regional office comprising geotechnical design teams.
2. Ensure open and constructive technical and managerial communication between regional offices is maintained.
3. Exercise oversight over regional office providing technical support as required. Review intermediate level (Cat. 1 and 2) design proposals for concept and practicability and approve final result.
4. Proactively maintain excellent professional relationships with clients to secure repeat business.
5. Identify business opportunities and prepare bids to commercial and competitive standards for business growth.
6. Exercise oversight over regional office to ensure staff and resources are deployed effectively.
Minimum Requirements:
* BEng or MEng degree in Civil Engineering or a Geology related subject.
* Chartered Engineer or Geologist status.
* Extensive experience in geotechnical design and construction and a good working knowledge of ground conditions in the United Kingdom.
* Comprehensive experience of estimation for complex Civil Engineering design projects.
* Comprehensive understanding of the capabilities of design software for geotechnical design.
* Solid knowledge of the application of UK Health and Safety legislation particularly CDM 2015.
