We're a company of pioneers. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Event and Integrated Marketing leader to lead our most important events and bring an integrated marketing approach to our Print & Kindle Books businesses in Europe. In this multi-faceted role, you will define your vision of how to inspire customers across Europe to find and enjoy their next read through already existing top tier events or through defining new opportunities. Working backwards from customer insights that your team owns, develops and regularly inspects, you will have the opportunity to shape how customers discover and shop for books on Amazon, partnering with multiple diverse stakeholders in different local and global teams.
The ideal candidate will operate both at the strategic (event vision, 3yr planning) and operational level (inspecting program milestones, designing marketing campaigns, writing business requirements, forecasting inputs and outputs etc.), and will have a strong background in marketing strategy, and cross-functional team leadership. You will show hustle, take ownership and help foster a high-energy, high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning:
o Craft the Blueprint of Success: Develop and curate a yearly calendar that seamlessly weaves together local and global events with integrated marketing opportunities.
o Architect the Event Hierarchy: Pioneer an innovative events tiering strategy that maximizes our resources and amplifies our impact.
o Engineer Tailored Marketing Marvels: Design bespoke marketing strategies for each event.
o Orchestration of Resources: Lead and inspire cross-functional teams to orchestrate flawlessly executed events.
2. Opportunity Identification:
o Uncover Hidden Gems: Spot and seize incremental occasions and synergy opportunities.
o Ride the Waves of Culture: Stay relevant with new releases and cultural trends.
o Weave Storytelling Magic: Craft connections between books and their adaptations.
o Champion Local Brilliance: Tailor our approach to the unique heartbeat of your community.
3. Performance Measurement and Reporting:
o Define Success: Craft success criteria, metrics, and forecasts for each event.
o Garden of Insights: Develop and implement strategies to measure event performance.
o Cultivate a Field of Discovery: Guide our team in creating experimentation and learning strategies.
o Share the Harvest of Knowledge: Present results in relevant forums.
4. Communication and Collaboration:
o Make the right prioritization assessment: Articulate our Above-the-Line (ATL) and Below-the-Line (BTL) marketing strategies.
o Illuminate the Marketing Landscape: Empower local teams and stakeholders with clear communication.
o Architect the Information Superhighway: Establish mechanisms that bridge the gap between teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
* 5+ years experience in marketing or related roles
* Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
* Excellent project management and cross-functional team leadership abilities
* Proven track record of successful event marketing campaigns
* Proficiency in marketing analytics and reporting tools
* Sharp communication and presentation skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* Passion for books and reading
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Multistakeholder, high-level stakeholder management
- Events marketing experience
- Strategic thinking with executing capability
- Savvy interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with teams across the organization
- Adept communicator both verbally and in writing
- Marketing experience with reputable consumer brands and/or experience in demand generation roles
- Experience in content and/or media companies
- International work experience
