Hours: 16-20 Hours PW

Who are Ambient Support?
Ambient Support, a registered UK charity with over 25 years’ experience in providing care and support services for older people, people with mental health needs, and people with learning disabilities. Our residential care home, The Chestnuts, is a community-based home for Older People in Aylesbury. We provide care and support to 64 residents, including up to 48 residents with specific dementia care needs. This is a welcoming home from home environment offering regular activities and organised events. The gardens at The Chestnuts are attractive and fully wheelchair accessible for residents and visitors alike.
The role of our Care Team Leader:
1. To ensure that the best interests of each person we support are at the centre of any decisions made about their life, and to work in partnership with them, their advocates, family, friends, and significant others.
2. Respecting the values, beliefs, and culture of everyone.
3. Ensuring that any concerns, complaints, or requests are responded to promptly and effectively.
4. Assessing and minimising risks to keep each individual safe.
5. To develop a person-centred team that makes a real difference to people’s lives.
6. Coaching and mentoring staff.
7. To ensure that systems are in place to enable staff to be supported and supervised appropriately.
Skills and attributes of our Care Team Leader:
1. Experience of supporting adults in a care setting or in the community.
2. Good communication skills, patience, and flexibility.
3. An understanding of safeguarding and person-centred support.
4. Ability to undertake a flexible working pattern.
5. Flexibility, a ‘can do’ attitude, and a sense of humour is a must!
6. Enjoy working independently, as well as part of a team.
7. Experience of working with vulnerable people or those with complex needs and a passion for enhancing individuals’ quality of life through positive behaviour support.
8. Support the management and take the lead in service delivery, expected to carry out daily tasks as well as senior duties.
9. Have an NVQ L3 in Health & Social Care, or relevant qualification.
10. Have supervisory/management experience.
11. Be well organised.
