This role offers hybrid working, allowing you to work either from home or from one of our offices.
You will be entitled to 30 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays).
You will be allowed to work with large levels of autonomy, whilst also having the support of a competent and supportive team.

We will provide resources to ensure all staff meet the required levels of CPD.
We will encourage progression for all staff, providing exposure and training on all building types, to support them through the various levels of registration.
We’re working to ensure the built environment in Somerset is safe and compliant for the people of Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:
1. Having the autonomy of managing your own geographical area.
2. Carrying out appraisals of Building Control applications to check for compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
3. Carrying out site inspections on all projects in your area, working with clients, designers, and contractors.
We offer ongoing support, training, and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:
1. You must be a Registered Building Inspector with the Building Safety Regulator. To be considered for this role, you should be a minimum of, or working towards Class 2 registration status.
2. Have experience in Building Control, with the ability to apply the relevant requirements and take any necessary action.
3. Have a degree level qualification or chartered status with either CABE, RICS, or CIOB.

The salary for this role is Grade 9, ranging from £39,186 to £43,421 per annum.
