Morrison Water Services is currently looking to recruit an Operations Manager to work on our Yorkshire Water Smart Metering. Building on our 25+ year relationship with Yorkshire Water, this exciting programme involves the installation of 1.3 million meters and is critical to the region's future supply needs.
As the Operations Manager, you will be part of the Senior Management Team responsible for the day-to-day running and leadership of the programme, to meet company and client behaviours, goals and objectives. Our business is built on our key values and behaviours, which the Operations Manager has ultimate responsibility for implementing and upholding in their given operational area. Our people are our greatest asset, and as the Operations Manager, you will support all colleagues and clients to deliver exceptional service and results.
The role is responsible for the safe, efficient and right first time delivery of repair & maintenance activity leading a team of operational and back office professionals as well as being the point of contact for the Client. You will deliver industry-leading health, safety, environment and well-being performance and provide leading customer service and satisfaction. A key part of this role is your direct accountability for the monthly CVR position, working closely with the Framework Director and the other Operations Managers, you will strive to deliver the business plan P&L.
Your duties & responsibilities will be:
* Responsibility for implementing and enabling the highest standards of Safety compliance, and drive a positive wellbeing culture throughout your operational area.
* To monitor and manage the performance of MWS direct staff and subcontractors with respect to the required standards of Health and Safety, Quality and the Environment.
* Direct responsibility and accountability of your operational area's monthly Cost and Value Reconciliation.
* Accountability for delivery of all Contractual and Commercial KPI's, Quarterly and Annual Business Plan targets.
* Direct management of a team of Operational Managers and a Planning Manager.
* Build long-lasting and engaging client relationships, promoting the values of MWS and continually supporting clients' needs to deliver the best possible solutions.
* To provide operational support in the procurement of all Sub-contractors and Suppliers.
* To develop and implement changes to process, following understanding of a need to improve performance.
* To plan, recruit and co-ordinate all operational resources for current and future works.
* Be the face of Morrison Water Services Limited for all Client and Contractor operational issues.
* Leadership of all colleagues across a wide range of functions, supporting development, diversity and inclusion and championing employee engagement.
* Ensure resource requirements are met for now and the future, investing in technical, behavioural and safety development.
* To promote the highest levels of integrity within the business and to demonstrate professionalism and uphold the MWS code of conduct at all times.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
This is one of our key operational roles, so we will look for:
* Demonstrable high level of communication and negotiation skills.
* Previous Senior Management experience in utility contracting or similar environment.
* We value you for who you are, so appropriate formal training and development will be provided, but we will look favourably if you can demonstrate that you have the following qualifications:
* Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5 or equivalent.
* NRSWA Supervisor.
* SMSTS.
* Service Avoidance.
