This role is for an ADoS to act as part of a wider academic management team to promote the educational development of every student at Bayswater College, with a primary focus on ESL. They will be familiar with and adhere to all company policies, procedures and relevant handbook. Key Responsibilities: Set an example to teaching team of best practice both in and out of the classroom, helping to build school culture. Lead on all academic administration, monitoring and managing teacher administration and updating databases where appropriate. Organise cover for absent teachers ensuring that cover teachers have sufficient information on what is to be taught. Brief cover teachers with accurate information to ensure students receive continuity of class content. Support on the recruitment of teaching staff in line with student enrolments, liaising with Recruitment team on reference and other checks, ensuring compliance. Ensure that all new teachers receive a contract and thorough induction before starting teaching. Observe teaching staff in line with company policy to feed into annual appraisals and general CPD. On a rota basis organise cover for absent teachers, ensuring that cover teachers have sufficient information on what is to be taught. Implement, observe and where appropriate enforce all policies and regulations by the school's staff and students. Enforce discipline as necessary, according to due process to the rights of students. Deputise for the Director of Studies where appropriate. Assist the DoS as required with: Scheduling/timetabling and appropriate staffing, both in the day to day and longer term. Conducting teacher observations in line with company policy to feed into annual appraisals and general CDP. Playing a key role in the staff CPD, both in terms of planning and delivery. Conducting teachers’ meetings with or in place of the DoS and record meeting minutes. Ensure that classrooms are set up correctly for use each morning and that windows and doors are secured at night, as required. Ensure that classroom noticeboards are maintained properly: i.e. they are well presented, contain all the necessary information and out of date information is taken down. Prepare or supervise the preparation of reports, records, lists, and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the school's administration. Ensure ongoing student support and engagement throughout the course. Liaise with Student Services on pastoral issues when necessary. Conduct monthly tutorials with qualifying students or coordinates a teacher to do the tutorials with the agreement of the DoS. Teach English as required, in agreement with the Director of Studies and Centre Director. Maintain high standards of student welfare and conduct. Attend conferences and training days, mutually agreed upon with the Director of Studies. The post holder will carry out any other reasonable duties. Implement and observe all policies and regulations by the school's staff and students.
