Axcis are recruiting for a KS3/ KS4, full-time qualified teacher to start at a SEN school in Exeter. Teachers with primary and secondary experience are desirable to the school as every class has mixed abilities and levels. The school are looking for long term members of staff which can lead to a permanent role if successful. As the school is expanding their team, your creativity, and past skills can be tailored into the wellbeing of the school. The school caters for around 130 students aged 6 – 18 who are school refusers, they have an education health care plan presenting high anxiety and autism. The school visit Haldon Forest once a week, have a 2-hour P.E lesson and a 1 ½ hour cooking lesson every day. The school is a calm setting which is vital in the development of the pupils. The role is to teach a class of 10 pupils in year 9 and 10 a range of subjects. The school deliver lessons like a primary education module, teaching all subjects in one class with the same students. This is to de-crease their anxieties and create trusting relationships for students and teachers. You will teach low level math and English alongside PSHE preparing the young learners for adulthood. They are looking for a qualified and experienced teacher to join the ambitious team to continue the success of the school. You must be committed to raising standards through superb teaching and learning, passionate about education and enabling all pupils to achieve in all aspects of school. The hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 – 4:30 and we pay to teacher scale. This role is to start ASAP to make a gentle transition with the class so you know every child for September.
