Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced SIA Security Dog Handler to join our team in Norwich, Norfolk. The ideal candidate will have a NASDU certification and their own dog handling unit, including a trained security dog, dog insurance, and a vehicle suitable for dog transport. You will be responsible for protecting client premises, patrolling, and responding to potential threats with the assistance of your canine partner.
Responsibilities:
* Patrolling and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols with your dog, covering assigned areas and identifying potential security risks.
* Deterrence and Threat Response: Act as a visible deterrent to prevent criminal activity, using your dog for protection and assistance.
* Access Control: Monitor and control access points, ensuring only authorized personnel are allowed on site.
* Incident Management: Respond to incidents promptly, ensuring safe and controlled handling with the assistance of your dog.
* Documentation and Reporting: Complete detailed reports of incidents, activities, and any security breaches observed during your shift.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other security team members, providing updates and support as needed.
Requirements:
* SIA License (Security Guard or Door Supervisor) – Mandatory
* NASDU Certificate – Must be certified to handle a security dog professionally
* Complete Dog Handling Unit – Must have a fully trained and certified security dog, along with appropriate insurance for the dog and vehicle
* Reliable Dog Transport Vehicle – A suitable, fully equipped vehicle to ensure safe and comfortable transport of the dog
* Previous Security and Dog Handling Experience – Essential for this role
* Excellent Communication Skills – Able to communicate effectively in potentially high-stress situations
