A local authority client I am working with in Nottinghamshire is looking for a Housing Officer with the below description: Y our role will include daily contact with customers and you will assist them with their housing and tenancy issues. You will manage tenancies and tenancy issues, an anti-social behaviour caseload and you will also manage a neighbourhood patch within the district. The key focus of the team and the role is to improve the quality of neighbourhoods, to sustain tenancies and to deal effectively with estate issues and issues of anti-social behaviour that may arise. You will work as part of team of Housing Officers delivering this service. The ability to work as part of a team but also to manage your own caseload is important, particularly as the role involves spending a lot of time working remotely out on your patch within the community. This will entail you being required to undertake reactive visits when necessary to respond to urgent tenancy matters throughout your patch or if necessary within the wider district, this will require you to have access to your own transport as these visits will be at short notice and of an urgent nature. You will need to work closely with other departments and agencies to achieve positive results for customers and to improve neighbourhoods and you will also need to be able to communicate effectively with customers, both verbally and in writing, some of whom will be suffering difficulties because of their personal circumstances. Therefore, an ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences and build relationships is important.
